Abstract

(The purpose of this study was to isolate Shigella sp bacteria from cow feces sample collected from BPTU-HPT Indrapuri. This research was conducted by Cross-Sectional method. The fecal samples were taken from 85 cows, followed by isolation of Shigella sp bacteria using Carter method, Shigella sp isolation was done by inoculating cow feces using sterile swab on Nutrient Broth (NB) medium. Then inoculated on Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) medium. 11 out of 85 samples suspected shigella sp then was multiplied on Nutrient Agar (NA) medium followed by planted on Salmonella Shigella agar media (SSA) and incubated at 37˚C for 18-24 hours. A separate colony was then collected for Gram staining. The results showed no positive bacteria Shigella sp. The Conclusion is can not be isolated Shigella sp bacteria on the feces of aceh cattle in BPTU-HPT Indrapuri .)
