Sebaran Karbohidrat pada Usus Halus Merpati (Columba domesticus) (Carbohidrate Distribution in The Small Intestine of Pigeons (Columba domesticus))

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sebaran karbohidrat pada usus halus tiga ekor merpati jantan. Penelitian ini menggunakan organ usus halus yaitu duodenum, jejunum, dan ileum yang diamati secara histokimia. Penelitian ini di lakukan secara mikroteknik dengan pewarnaan alcian blue pH 2,5 (AB) untuk menentukan karbohidrat asam dan periodic acid Schiff (PAS) untuk menentukan karbohidrat netral. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan usus halus merpati bereaksi positif terhadap pewarnaan AB pH 2,5 pada tunika mukosa dengan intensitas kuat (+++) dan PAS dengan intensitas lemah (+). Tidak ditemukan karbohidrat asam dan netral pada tunika submukosa, tunika muskularis, dan tunika serosa. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa usus halus merpati mengandung karbohidrat asam dan netral yang tersebar pada tunika mukosa dengan intensitas karbohidrat asam lebih tinggi dari pada karbohidrat netral.

This research aims to determine the pattern of carbohydrate distribution in the small intestine of pigeons. Which  consist of duodenum, jejunum, and ileum of three pigeons observed histochemically. Alcian blue pH 2.5 (AB) staining was performared to determine carbohydrates acid and periodic acid Schiff (PAS) to determine the neutral carbohydrates. The results showed the small intestine of pigeon reacted positively to the staining of AB pH 2.5 on the mucosal tunica with strong intensity (+++) and PAS with weak intensity (+). No acid and neutral carbohydrates are found in tunica submucosa, tunica muscular, and tunica serous. It can be concluded that the pigeon's small intestine contains acidic and neutral carbohydrates that are dispersed in the mucosal tunica with the intensity of acidic carbohydrates higher than in neutral carbohydrates
